Environmental Site Assessment, Investigation, and Remediation
Great Lakes’ staff of engineers, geologists and technicians provide comprehensive Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments (ESA) and preparation of Transaction Screen Questionnaires to assist property owners, developers, banks, etc., in determining potential environmental liabilities associate with real property acquisition, disposition and ownership. Information obtained through environmental site assessments can have a significant impact on the economics of a property transaction, affecting the owner, buyer, seller and lender.
Our engineers and environmental scientists have extensive experience investigating sites impacted by petroleum and hazardous materials, solid and hazardous waste. They have analyzed a broad spectrum of organic and inorganic contamination in all environmental media (i.e. soil, groundwater, surface water, sediments and air) from a wide-array of sites for clients including banks, developers, construction contractors, municipalities, utilities, colleges and universities, private and public school systems, healthcare institutions, solid waste management facilities, utilities and for commercial and industrial operations.
The scope of these investigations include: facility audits, Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments (ESA); remedial investigations including human health and ecological risk assessments at RCRA sites; and hydrogeologic investigations. We carefully plan our investigations to balance the need to obtain sufficient data for design and remediation cost estimates against the desire to keep investigation costs down. We perform a remedial investigation and feasibility study (RI/FS) at each site in order to investigate the extent of contamination from historical operations at a site and to develop a cleanup approach.
